DESPAIR is settling on the government and even some Gillard supporters are turning their minds to the possibility of Plan B – Kevin Rudd.
But there is, potentially, a big problem. Rudd might no longer be interested.
Labor did such an energetic job of publicly smearing Rudd, and such an enthusiastic job of humiliating him, it might have irreparably damaged its own Plan B.
Like most of the government’s biggest problems, this is entirely self-inflicted.
The Gillard scorched earth policy doesn’t stop there. The Carbon Tax has been set up in such a way that its abolition will be difficult, and the green loan scheme is to be Abbott-proofed by financing it in advance. It is clear that Ms. Gillard is an utter failure. Sadly she and her Labor supporters are determined to see that whoever follows will have as much difficulty succeeding as she can create.
Gillard is a failed plan A and she is determined that there will be no viable plan B.
