Newton, no not the genius …

This case “has become a stalking horse for his destruction in the media … Every time this case comes to court it brings more reports in the newspaper. He left Australia to get away from that.”

If you’re unknown and broke you are a criminal, you go to jail, but if you’re rich and famous? You battle …

serious mental health problems …  including post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and bipolar disorder.

Jail? Hell no

a “high-care facility”

Appear in court to face charges of assaulting a taxi driver? Can’t come, on bail in the States. And when Downing Centre magistrate Jane Mottley suggested the matter return to court on August 6, the lawyer for the unfortunate sick person became angry, complaining that US matters would take much longer to resolve and that being dragged back to court was “a waste of court time and my client’s time”. Adding, “I’ve got a man with mental illness being driven mad by this court.”

It’s tough for the rich and famous, just ask his lawyer, the high care facility doesn’t even have a telephone. Still that should keep the receptionist a little safer. Hopefully he can’t have visits from his girlfriend either. Safer for her that way.

The Age has the story.
