Last month the lovely Gayle discovered that she could catch up on some missed TV episodes via the internet.
We live in the outback, there is no mobile phone coverage. The land line is incapable of ADSL and there is no plan to upgrade it. We get access to the world wide web via satellite. Very slowly at the best of times. Our plan runs from the 8th of the month to the 8th of the month.
On about the 12th of last month TLG says to me, “What have you been up to? I’ve just got a message to say we’ve used half our monthly allowance” and for once it wasn’t money she was talking about.
And by mid month we’d used it all.
No worries, we’re always running pretty close let’s upgrade our plan. No way. As if having to put up with lousy connection speed wasn’t a sufficient penalty for living in the bush, satellite users are limited to a paltry 10 000 gigs per month. So two weeks cut off from the universe …
but today is the 8th.
