Abdullah the cat …

Well, it’s true, Peppa Pig never inspired anyone to become a doctor.

The Muslim Council of Great Britain … “The majority of mainstream Muslims would not find Peppa Pig offensive, and anecdotally we know of many Muslim children who watch the show for its entertainment value. Those who do have issues with this can simply refrain from watching the show and purchasing Peppa Pig memorabilia”.

Just how culturally insensitive is the ABC to peddle this stuff.

You can make sense of all this <HERE>.

Honour killings are morally justified …

The Sydney Opera House Festival of Dangerous Ideas was looking forward to this …

Uthman Badar, a Sydney-based Muslim speaker, writer and activist, will deliver a presentation titled ”Honour killings are morally justified” and argue that such acts are seized on by Westerners as a symbol of everything they dislike about another culture…

Joint founder and co-curator of the festival Simon Longstaff said the idea is one he had consistently nominated for six years, because the point of the event is to push boundaries “to the point where you become extremely uncomfortable”

Mr Badar is an Australian spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahrir, a group described by the festival as “global advocacy group working for positive change in the Muslim world via the re-establishment of the Islamic Caliphate” – a state under sharia, or Islamic law.

… but it’s been cancelled.

Must have been a push back by all those moderate muslims.

Civilising influence …

Quotes are from their ABC

Before he was stabbed to death, the victim was knocked over by a blue car which then rammed into a lamp-post.

The attackers pounced on him in a busy residential street.

Witnesses said they shouted “Allahu akbar” – Arabic for “God is greatest” – while stabbing the victim and trying to behead him. A handgun was also found at the scene.

The victim was a soldier. He was hacked to death near the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, London. The perpetrators were keen to get their message out, happy to perform for the cameras of witnesses.

Both men appeared to have converted to Islam after being raised by Christian immigrant families, reports in British media said.

Their adopted religion does not seem to have been a civilising influence …

Scolded …

A MUSLIM man standing trial over his role in last year’s violent protests in central Sydney has been scolded for his “disrespect” after refusing to stand before a magistrate.

Mohammed Issai Issaka, 44, has pleaded not guilty to rioting, resisting arrest and assaulting police during the protests last September, organised in response to an internet video defaming the Islamic prophet Mohammed.

As the hearing commenced in Sydney’s Downing Centre yesterday, Mr Issaka refused to rise from his chair as a show of respect to magistrate Jacqueline Milledge as she entered the room.

Ms Milledge then repeatedly demanded the defendant stand, refusing to accept his excuse.

“You can tell me where it is in his religion that it says he cannot stand,” Ms Milledge told Mr Issaka’s lawyer. “I was a magistrate at Bankstown court (in southwest Sydney) for four years and I have never had to deal with such disrespect.”

After a delay of almost half an hour, the case resumed with Mr Issaka waiting outside the courtroom until the magistrate was seated.

Round one to Issaka …

Irony …

The Israeli blockade of Gaza makes life hard for the people of Gaza. It’s a bad thing … ask anyone in Gaza.

On the other hand it makes it hard to import rocket building materiel into Gaza, which means that folk in Israel can go about their business with a reduced risk of being blown up. That’s a good thing … ask anyone in Israel.

Some British aid workers felt sorry for the people of Gaza and decided to take aid overland. If the aid got there the people of Gaza would have a truck load of stuff that they wouldn’t otherwise have had, if it didn’t get there the effort would at least highlight the plight of the Gazan people. They made it as far as the Libia Egypt border where they were turned back, subsequently they were kidnapped. Theirs was a noble and compassionate impulse …

Awad al-Barassi, the Prime Minister of Libya, visited at least two of the victims in hospital  before they were able to fly home. He told media that three women had been raped and that two of them were sisters. He said the sisters had been raped in front of their father.

Noble, compassionate and naive. Now forget noble and compassionate, hang on to naive. In the face of the horror that was the bombing of the World Trade Centre one of our worthy opinion makers, paid by the Aussie taxpayer to serve up one side of political thought, had this to say on how to deal with Osama bin Laden …

“What if that involved bringing him somewhere, absolutely safely, sitting down with him, treating him like a human being and talking about it, and then Osama bin Laden going home again, not bombing the hell out of bin Laden?”

Quite so, Virginia Trioli of their ABC.

In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing, the Tsarnaev brothers hijacked a car with a “Coexist” bumper sticker. They come in a number of flavours but this one is typical …

imagesIf it wasn’t for the first letter we wouldn’t need the sticker.

But, saving the best for last.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s former brother-in-law points to the Boston bomber’s possible motivation …

He was angry that the world pictures Islam as a violent religion.

ANZAC eve …

The radical Muslim group Hizb ut Tahrir declares that Muslims should not celebrate Anzac day. It says government requests for Islamic schools to note Anzac day is an unacceptable imposition of foreign values and history.

Got that? Foreign values and history.

Muslim Aussie kids in Muslim Aussie schools generously sponsored by the Aussie taxpayer. Kids that will grow up and take their place along side other Aussies of different cultural backgrounds as the Aussie adults of tomorrow.
If that’s not what their Muslim parents want then why come to Australia?

Find the logic …

A senior Iranian cleric says women who wear revealing clothing and behave promiscuously are to blame for earthquakes.

Iran is one of the world’s most earthquake-prone countries, and the cleric’s unusual explanation for why the earth shakes follows a prediction by the president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, that a quake is certain to hit Tehran and that many of its 12 million inhabitants should relocate.

“Many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which increases earthquakes,” Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media. Women in the Islamic Republic are required by law to cover from head to toe, but many, especially the young, ignore some of the more strict codes and wear tight coats and scarves pulled back that show much of the hair. “What can we do to avoid being buried under the rubble?” Sedighi asked during a prayer sermon last week. “There is no other solution but to take refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam’s moral codes.”

A well founded islamophobia …

Boston. Disgruntled left wingers were sure it was the NRA or the Tea Party, right wing nutbags for sure. Whilst disgruntled right wingers thought that radical students or left wing revolutionaries were to blame. Well it turns out the suspects are in fact the usual suspects.

So the sun is in its place, the earth is in its orbit and the same people that wanted to kill us last week still want to kill us this week … just because we are not Moslem.
